As you’ve probably learned, this Friday (April 30) is the Dutch national holiday of Koninginnedag… when the queen officially celebrates her birthday. In lieu of a regular home gathering, we will do something very Dutch, then add our own American twist.

First we are going to meet at 14:00 on the steps of the old Stadhuis so we can walk through the free market in the city park. Then, around 18:00 we will go back to the Linneweh’s house for a barbecue: hamburgers, bratwurst, potato chips, ice cream sundaes, banana splits and Southern sweet tea.

Even if you cannot come for the whole day, feel free to join us when you can.

So… bring good walking shoes, a good appetite, and a friend!
